My grandpa got his first gun (22) for getting good grades!!!!!!!!

Punishments
At school my grandpa had to sit in a room alone. At home he would get spanked if his parents could catch him.

Threshing Bees
My grandpa went to threshing bees when he was on his uncles farm in the summer. He said he really enjoyed threshing bees on his uncles farm.

Threshing bees are when farmers come together to thresh the oats. Threshing is when you take all the oats and a threshing machine separated the oats from the straw so you could use it in different ways.

Polio
My grandpa was sent to his uncles farm to get away from the disease. Polio is a contagious and devastating disease. It affected mostly children and caused paralysis and maybe death. There are two polio . medicines made by Jones Stalk and first tested in 1952. It was first announced to the world on April 5 ,1955.

Polka Music
Polka music is a form of music. It is a type of European dance that started in Bohemia. My grandpa liked polka music.

Amazing mills!!!!!!!
Paper mills made newspapers and magazines. Many of his friends worked in a paper mill. My grandpa worked in a creamery in high school and a factory that made ceramic chips and batteries.

Located in Norway, MI had a 65' milk bottle. It was built in 1929 of metal-sheated wood and plaster. The dairy moved out in the late 1970s and building was destroyed.

My Grandpa went to school in Norway. His favorite teacher was Miss Larson. He called her The Face because she was so ugly. She suggested the idea to become a veterinarian.

Grandpa went to college at Michigan State University to become a veterinarian. Michigan State was started in 1855.

My grandpa got married in East Lansing, Michigan at an Episcopal Church.13 people came to their wedding. He was still in college when he got married.

MS Multiple Sclerosis
My grandpa has MS. MS makes roadblocks in your brain pathways so messages dont get through like they should. MS can cause many problems, such as: vision problems, trouble with walking, and memory problems. He is in a wheelchair because of MS.
