CHICKENPOX
• Caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV)
• Known as ‘cacar air’
• Chickenpox can be serious, especially during pregnancy, in babies,
adolescents, adults, and people with weakened immune systems
• Chickenpox illness usually lasts about 4 to 7 days.
• Rash turns into itchy, fluid-filled blisters that eventually turn into
scabs
• Transmitted through direct contact with fluid from rash blisters or
through breathing in virus particles that come from the blisters.
Measles
What is measles??
• Measles is very contagious and can be serious.
• Measles spreads through the air when an infected person coughs
or sneezes.(respiratory droplet)
• An infected person can spread measles to others even before
knowing he/she has the disease
Some of the more common Complications:-
measles symptoms include:
• high fever • About 1 in 5 people in the U.S. who
get measles will be hospitalized
• cough,
• 1 out of every 1,000 people with
• runny nose (coryza), measles will develop brain swelling,
which could lead to brain damage
