BENEFITS USING DRA

 DRA will replace ordinary QSIG when it’s not economic to

rent a tie-line or buy a VPN solution.

 The customer can connect even very small branch offices to

the private network.

 DRA can be used as an alternative route if the ordinary tie-line

has very high traffic or is broken.

 User-to-user information where ISDN level 3 is not supported.

RT/EUS/B/BDD John Whelan Doc. # EUS/B/BDD-98:00 Rev. PA1 26()

CAPACITY USING DRA

 DRA supports only the following bearer capabilities:

- Speech
- 3.1 kHz audio
- 16 kbit/s unrestricted data

 DRA requires the Voice Compression function i.e it’s

necessary to use voice compression boards. This will limit the
maximum number of DRA trunk individuals.

Every board will offer 8 compression individuals.

 Maximum 38 voice compression boards in one LIM.

RT/EUS/B/BDD John Whelan Doc. # EUS/B/BDD-98:00 Rev. PA1 27()

Traffic over IP
