TIMELINE OF RENAISSANCE

By: Spun K

RENAISSANCE

Renaissance means the rebirth or the revival. This time is about important people and events in the Renaissance time period from 1300 1650.

PRINT AND PRESS 1440

The print and press in invented my Johannes Gutenberg. The print and press makes the Bible be able to be read by normal people and opinion can be spread easier. Before there was print and press people would have to wait for years for books because it is Hand-copy and some scribes put their own opinion in their book so some of the books are corrupt by having messages taken out or extra message put in. By having print and press the copies of the book will be the same and extra message cannot be put in.

PRINT AND PRESS 1440

The print and press is important because it led to having type writer and finally to keyboard on computers.

He designed a parachute to escape the castle form heavy attack, Leonardo liked instruments that allowed an object or people to drop form a high height.

LEONARDO DA VINCI 1452-1519 I think that Leonardo da Vinci impacts the world because he study of the human body and that develop today's invention. Also from the helicopter it made us be able to travel by fly and can rescue people in emergencies. He also invented war machines that impact the world a lot because that cause a lot more people to die.

MACHIAVELLI 1513
Machiavelli wrote the book the prince that says how he think a leader should be and says that if you have power you have to do everything to keep your power even though it means killing people you have to do it.

I think he change the world because people took his ideas and try to keep their power so they killed a lot of people. I think it is important to learn about him because we can know that being a good leader, you do not have to do everything to keep your power.

MARTIN LUTHER 1517

Martin Luther nail his 96 theses to the Wittenberg church door in 31 October 1517 about what he think is wrong about the Bible. He founded a church and started the Reformation .
I think he impacts our world today because he said his opinion about the bible. Lots of people agree with him so the church change some of there ways of thinking.

WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE 1564

I think that William Shakespeare is important because now students study about his work and learn his writing techniques. Also from his play we can see how that time period is like.

CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS 1492

Christopher Columbus found America and spread the Catholic Church religion and Colonize America, if native Americans did not believe Christianity they got killed.
I think this impact the world because if Columbus did not find America and spread Christianity. Even though he killed lots of native people, America might not be develop as now . If Christopher Columbus did not do that it might be a long time until some one found America.

NICOLAS COPERNICUS 15071515

Nicolas Copernicus is a polish astronomer he found theory that the sun is in the center of the earth which is against the church because the church thinks that god created earth so earth should be in the middle.

NICOLAS COPERNICUS 15071515

I think Nicolas Copernicus has a impact on the world because he found out that the sun is in the middle of the universe and that effected how people think of what earth is not in the middle of the universe. Later other scientist researched further.

PETER HENLEIN 15041505

Peter Henlein invented the pocket watch in 1504-1505. The pocket watch made people in those days be able to have watches with them because there used to only be big watches for houses because wrist watches were not invented yet. The pocket watch became luxury items.

PETER HENLEIN 15041505

I think that the pocket watch is important because the pocket watch made people in those day be able to tell time easily because the watch is with themselves. The person who started wearing a watch on there wrist use piece of string and attached the pocket watch to his wrist.

ADDING MACHINE 1642

Adding machine (simple calculator) is invented by Blaise Pascal in 1642 it is a wooden box with sixteen dials on it use for simple addition and subtraction.
I think this has a impact on the world because if there was no calculator we would have to do math in our heads or on paper but with a calculator it is a lot faster and accurate.

ISAAC NEWTON 1642

Isaac Newton was born in 1642 in England. He found out the laws of motion and universal gravitation. Isaac Newton found out about gravity and that was his second law of motion by seeing a apple fall from the apple tree , his first law of motion is 'Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it'. Isaac Newton's third law of motion is 'For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

ISAAC NEWTON 1642

I think that Isaac Newtons law of motions effects the world because he found out about gravity and influence lots of inventions in modern day time.
