MODULE 11
Article 16 of the Executive Order (EO) No. 209 or the “Family Code of the
Philippines” requires 18-25 years old would-be-married couples to undergo
PMC (Pre-Marriage Counseling).
OBJECTIVE OF THIS SESSION
Describe one’s self as a person and his/her future spouse.
Identify similarities and differences based on the accomplished MEI Form and the
factors affecting their individual perception which would eventually affect their future
married life.
Identify tips and ways to manage conflict through meaningful conversations and
engaging participant/s in a dialogue.
COUNSELING SESSIONS
• Session 1: YOU AND YOUR FUTURE SPOUSE
- Share important aspect of one’s self –awareness and introspection that will underscore self-
awareness, acceptance and appreciation of their own uniqueness and of their future partners.
• Session 11: UNDERSTANDING INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES
- focus on identifying the differences of the participants and the factors affecting those differences.
• Session 111: IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNICATION
- focus on initiating meaningful conversation and dialogue that will be valuable in resolving
potential conflicts and differences.
• Session 1V: LIFETIME COMMITMENT
- Synthesize the lessons learned and evaluate the conduct of the session provided.
SESSION 1- YOU AND YOUR FUTURE SPOUSE
