Rationale of the problem

•Sharing the reasons why the researcher/s decided to look for


solutions to the problem.
•This may include: personal experiences, a scene witnessed, a
news heard or a theory for clarification.
SETTING OF THE PROBLEM

•Forms part of the delimitation of the study.


•Defines geographic boundaries and certain demographic
characteristics of the research.
LITERATURE FOUNDATION OF THE STUDY

•Seeks to provide the researcher the clarity on the terms or


variables used in the study.
•Sufficient background can assist the researcher in determining
the boundaries of the study.
SERIOUSNESS OF THE RESEARCH PROBLEM

•Identifies the intensity and magnitude of the problem.


GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE PROBLEM

•General statement of the problem.


•The major tasks of the researcher to discharge and should also
be the basis of the statement of the problem.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE PROBLEM

•The implications of the resulting findings of the study.
