Present Simple
a. We use present simple for repeated actions or habits.
Eg: We go to school.
I have a breakfast.
I drink coffee
b. Sometimes when we see as permanent.
Eg: My sister works in a hospital.
I live in Chimoio

c. Describing a state that doesn’t change.


Eg: I look like my father.
Present continuous
We use the present continuous for:
a. Things in progress now, at the moment of speaking.
The sun is shining and it’s a beautiful day.
b. Temporary actions or situations that are happening ‘around now’
I’m reading a very good book at the moment.
I’m learning English today/ at the moment
c. Describing a situation which is changing.
People are doing more exercises nowadays.
People are using cell phones for everything nowadays
Present simple vs present continuous

 We use the present simple to say


about what we usually do or
 We use present
things that are normally true; continuous to say
 We often use the present simple what is happening
with adverbs and expressions of now.

once a week, etc.  We often use the
 I always go to work at 7am present continuous
 I play guitar once a week with at the moment,

Put the verbs in brackets in the present simple or continuous
