DEFINITION OF JSA or JHA
Job Safety Analysis or Job Hazard Analysis is a Systematic Procedure that breaks each task into
key training sequence, identifies safety elements of each jobs step and help the employee on how
to avoid potential safety hazard.
Benefit of JSA:
• Ensuring consistent and safe work method.

• Reducing injuries by helping employees know how to best perform a task without the
likelihood of Injury.
• Provides a form of training documentation regarding the employee’s knowledge of the job
safety requirement.

DEFINITIONN & DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In RLI complex, a situation arises where a heavy compressor machine weighing 5 tons needs to be shifted from the main gate to
the rear of the annexure building. The compressor machine is an essential piece of equipment required for various process in the
industrial Hygiene Lab, and its relocation is crucial for the smooth functioning of operations in the facility.
To execute this task efficiently and safely, the management decides to employ a pick & carry crane. This type of crane is known
for its versatility and ability to move heavy loads horizontally across short distances. It is equipped with hydraulic lifting
capabilities and has a specially designed structure that allows it to lift the load and carry on its own wheels, without requiring
additional transport equipment.
Also the management ask the Team 7S to prepare a JSA before execution of the task with the help of Supervisor, Manager,
Rigger, Operator.
With the successful completion of the operation, the institute complex can now resume its regular activities with the relocated
compressor machine in its new, optimized position. The collaboration, professionalism, and adherence to safety guidelines
demonstrated by the team ensure a seamless and hazard-free heavy equipment shifting process.

IMPORTANCE & UTILIZATION
Importance of JSA for this Activities
1. Identifying Hazards: It helps in identifying potential hazards and risks associated with the lifting and movement of the heavy
compressor machine.
2. Risk Assessment: JSA allow the performing team to assess the level of risk associated with each identified hazard.
3. Safety Planning: JSA allow the team to prepare a comprehensive Safety Plan for the task.
4. Training & Preparation: JSA enable team members to understand specific hazards and safety measures related to the
activity. This understanding ensures that all the personnel involved, including crane operator, rigger, and other workers are
adequately trained and prepared for their respective roles.
5. Preventing Accident: By proactively identifying potential hazards and implementing safety controls, JSA helps prevent
accident and injuries during the lifting and moving process. It ensure that risks are addressed before the activity take place,
reducing the likelihood of incidents.
6. Compliance with Regulations: Conducting JSA ensure compliance with the regulations and avoiding potential legal
liabilities.
