Line Leader Responsibilities:

•Ensuring proper 5S+Safety in Shopfloor and adhering Company policies

•Preparing work schedules and assigning workers production line tasks. ( Trained or OJT certified HC deployment as per
deployment plan)

•Evaluating incoming orders ( Daily Plan / Shift plan ) and setting up the production line accordingly.

•Optimizing production line efficiency ( Hourly UPH , Shift wise UPPH ) by monitoring productivity and quality ( Zero PDI
failure / Yield / No Process deviations – as per WI ).

•Identifying and resolving production line problems in a timely manner.

•( Down tracker drill down to 4M )

•Performing record keeping tasks, including inventory management ( as per WIP norms )and order tracking ( timely pick list
releasing).

•Training and supervising new production line workers.

•Collaborating with other departments to ensure that orders are completed on time.
KPI for Line Leaders:

1. Maintaining 5S + Safety in Shopfloor

2. Deploying Trained HC in Stages and Preparing Multi-skill of HC:

3. Meeting Hourly UPH

4. Scrap Rate

5. Down Time Tracker and WIP Norms:

6. Achieving Yield and Zero Customer Defect

7. Meeting Takt time regularly

1. Maintaining 5S + Safety in Shopfloor
2. Deploying Trained HC in Stages and Preparing Multi-skill of HC:

• Need to ensure respective stage operator having proper T- card/OJT Card for that
respective stages

• Need to deploy trained HC only in CTQ and CTP Stages.

• Re-train Operators in respective stages until Zero Error.

• Maintains Operator Discipline in shopfloor.

• Providing Multi –Skill for Critical stage operator to ensure running the line without
stoppage.

• Running the line in Single Piece Flow.

• Ensure proper tracking for Pen drives, Mobiles and Scanners.

3. Meeting Hourly UPH:

• This metric measures the number of units produced in each hour and can help companies
to identify bottlenecks in their production process and optimize efficiency. By tracking this
metric over time, companies can also identify trends in production output and identify
potential issues early on before they become critical. Shift need to achieve more than 97%
Production Plan. Hourly UPH need to track.

4. Scrap Rate:

• This metric measures the percentage of materials that are scrapped or rejected during the
production process and can indicate issues with quality control. By regularly monitoring
and analyzing this metric, companies can identify areas where quality is lacking and take
action to improve it. Scarp need to book daily without Fail. Scrap need to achieve below
Target level.
5. Down Time Tracker and WIP Norms:

• This metric measures the amount of time that production equipment is out of service and can
indicate issues with equipment maintenance or operator error. By tracking machine downtime,
companies can identify and address bottlenecks in the production process, ultimately
increasing efficiency and boosting output.

• Need to plan for staggering and consume it in Free Hours.

• WIP Need to be follow properly. Need proper storage and consumption time basics without
Fail.

6. Achieving Yield and Zero Customer Defect:

• First pass yield (FPY) is the number of units without rework or scrap defects exiting a process
divided by the number of units entering the same process over a set time period.
Quality Units/Total Units Produced = FPY Rate
7. Meeting Takt time regularly:
