steel and jewellery.

• Import : Palm oil, coal, telephone sets, crude petroleum oil and automatic data processing
machines.

Challenges Faced By India and ASEAN in Trade

• Widening trade deficit.

• Connectivity Issues (Shipping and Highways).

• Exports of labour-intensive manufacturing goods has decreased.

• India's Stagnant export market share since 2013.

• Stiff Competition

• Time consuming and expensive custom procedures.

• Safeguarding the textile and pharmaceutical exports.

• A review of the FTA between India and ASEAN.

• Removing non-tariff barriers.

• Facilitating professional mobility.

• Business visits between India and ASEAN.

• Indian human resource needs to work on skill development

• Improving the trade of agriculture and blue resources.

• Making custom procedures simple and cost effective.

• The transportation rules and the transit regulations need to be synchronized.

• Agreements should be made for better transport network between India and the
ASEAN countries.
