    Student Task: Analysing English Lyrics in Songs

    1. Select an English song (student choice) - bring this to Master Darren or Sebastian for approval

    2. Write a 250-300 word report analysing the English lyrics covering the following points:

    - What is / are the key meaning of the song ?

    - Identify metaphors, idioms or cliches the songwriter used in the lyrics.

    - Explain what the real intention / purpose of the lyrics are where metaphors, idioms or cliches have been used.

    3. What lyrics do you feel the author did a good job of conveying the key message ?

    4. What lyrics did a poor (or confusing) job of conveying the key message ?
