Introduction to Netball
• What is netball? Netball is a two-team sport in which each side must have at least 5 players per team in order to start the game, however, 7 is

GS, Goal Attack GA, Wing Attack WA, Center C, Wing Defense WD, Goal Defense GD, Goal Keeper GK.) The officials for a game are
called umpires, time keeper and score keeper. Netball is a similar sport to basketball but instead of running, one is required to stick their
landing.
• The netball court is 30.5m long and 15.25m wide. The longer sides are called the sidelines and the shorter sides are called goal lines. The
court is divided into three equal parts; a center third and two goal thirds. It has two transverse lines, two side lines, two goal circles, two
back lines and also a center circle. The goal circle is within the goal third while the center circle is within the center circle.
• Netball involves an extended period of explosive jumping and rapid change of direction. To get the body prepared for such activity,
