KARA

 Kara is a teenage girl who plays the main role in the novel
“White Dolphin” by Gill Lewis. She is going through a very tough
time with her mother’s disappearance, her bullies, along side
her Dyslexia. She stands determine even after everything that
has took place. Kara is settled in a small fishing village on the
coast. Everything in her life revolves around the sea. Her mom,
a marine biologist has been missing ever since she went to save
dolphins. Kara thinks that the white dolphins are a sign that her
mother is alive.

Strengths and weaknesses

She is mentally very dedicated and always has faith. She never let
her bully’s words get in her head. Despite the fact that she has
dyslexia, she still stands powerful. She can’t tolerate anyone
speaking against her family. She loves her boat Moana, it makes
her feel close to her mother.

Relations with others

 Kara wasn’t friends with anyone other than Felix. She had a
very strong bond with her cousin Daisy; They were always there
for each other. She didn’t really have a strong bond with her
aunt and uncle. She, Jake and Ethan had a very bad relation
with each other. Felix and Kara got very close because of there
similar interests. Her teacher also assisted her through her hard
times.

Personality

In the beginning Kara didn’t have any friends but later she became
friends with Felix. Her personality didn’t change a lot during later
events. In the end she accepted the death of her mother, despite
the fact that they didn’t find the body or have a funeral.
She was a very brave girl; She saved a dolphin’s life as well!
Although she was unhappy in the beginning she found her way out
and remained gleeful.

My opinion

 I personally adore Kara’s character, she is very strong and the

way she dealt with all her issues really inspires me! I perceive
that it was strange that she accepted her mother’s death all of a
sudden without a proper funeral. I really liked her bonding with
daisy too! I love her friendship with Felix as well. It is quite nice
to see Kara live happily!
