Ms. Angelica Alfonso
Media Literacy
• Media literacy is the ability to
critically, effectively, and responsibly
access, use, understand, and engage
with media of all kinds.

• Media literacy enables people to become

more informed media consumers as well
as responsible media producers.
Similarly, teaching media literacy helps
people develop critical thinking skills.
Data Privacy
• In general, data privacy refers to a person's ability to
control when, how, and to what extent personal
information about them is shared with or
communicated to others. This personal information
may include a person's name, location, contact
information, or online or offline behavior.
• As Internet usage has grown over time, so has
the value of data privacy. In order to provide
services, websites, applications, and social
media platforms frequently need to collect and
store personal data about users.
If data is not kept private, it
may be misused in a variety
of ways.
01
• Personal information can be used by criminals to trick or
harass users.

• Without the user's consent, entities may sell personal

02 information to advertisers or other third parties, which could

lead to users receiving unwanted marketing or advertising.

• The ability to express oneself freely may be limited if one's

03 actions are tracked and watched, particularly in countries with

repressive governments.
Here are ways to protect our
data:
01 CREATE STRONG 03 TURN ON PRIVACY SETTINGS
