Contest Mechanics for Individual
These guidelines aim to provide a structured and
competitive platform for students while nurturing their
journalistic skills. The competition comprises three
levels to determine the winners in each event who will
represent Davao at the national level.
 Contest Mechanics
Competition Format:
● Participants compete individually in their chosen events.
● Entries must adhere to specific event guidelines and submission
criteria.

 Contest Mechanics
● WORKSHOP 1 :
●Eligibility:
- Participants must be winning campus journalists or belong to Top 5
winners per event
- 55 competing participants per event will be assessed to round 1
Competition Format:
●Evaluation:
●A panel of judges will assess entries based on predetermined criteria.
●The top 25 participants with the highest scores in each event will advance to the next
round.
 Contest Mechanics
● Level 2: WORKSHOP 2 - Feedback and Improvement Round
● Second Set of Workshop:
● Qualifying participants from Level 1 will undergo a second set of workshop in their respective events.

● This round assesses participants' ability to adapt and improve based on feedback.
● Feedback Session:
● The top 25 participants in each event will receive valuable feedback from evaluators regarding their first set of workshop.
Feedback sessions are designed to provide constructive comments and suggestions for improvement.

● Re-Evaluation:
● The judges will re-evaluate the second set of workshop.

● Selection of Top 10:

● The top 10 participants with the highest (based on the second set of workshop in each event will proceed to the Final
Round.
 Contest Mechanics
●Level 3: WORKSHOP 3 - Final Round
●Third Set of Workshop:
●The top 10 participants in each event will face a third set of WORKSHOP in their respective events during the
Final Round.
●Competition Format:
●Participants will adhere to the same competition format as in Level 1 and Level 2.
●Evaluation:
●Entries for the third set of workshop will undergo evaluation by a panel of judges, adhering to predetermined
criteria. (Please see criteria in the latest NSPC memo)
●Announcement of Winners:
●The top 5 winners in each event will be announced and the top 1 will be officially declared as Davao’s
representative in the national level competition.
 Contest Mechanics
●Additional Notes:
• Transparent and effective communication regarding the new set of workshop and
expectations for improvement is crucial during the Feedback and Improvement Round.
• Judges for the third set of workshop in the Final Round should possess expertise in
their respective fields to ensure impartial evaluation.
●Clear guidelines and scoring rubrics for each set of workshop should be provided to all
participants. (Please see criteria in the latest NSPC memo)
• Organizers are responsible for establishing a comprehensive timeline for each level of
the competition, including the administration of the second and third sets of workshop.
Contest Mechanics
• An accurate scoring system will be in place to ensure fair and consistent assessment
throughout all rounds.
• Comprehensive documentation of the entire process, including feedback, scores, and
evaluations, will be maintained to ensure transparency and reference.
●These revised guidelines are designed to facilitate a competitive yet growth-oriented
environment for RSPC Individual Contests in Regiopn XI, fostering the development of
young journalism talents among participants.

Registration Fee
 The registration fee is ₱ 800.00 per participant will be
collected by the Cashier (Regional Office) on
February 12-13, 2024 for early request to BTR and
procurement.
 Membership fee of One Hundred Pesos
(Php100) for the School Publication Adviser
(SPA) and Ninety Pesos (Php 90.00) for
Campus Journalists will be collected by the
DRASPAI Treasurer on February 9, 2024,
TCNHS.
 Note: Submit the Official List of Participants per SDOs upon payment to the Cashier.
