ABSTRACT
Cyber security is of utmost importance in engineering systems to
safeguard critical infrastructure and protect public safety. By
addressing vulnerabilities understanding various types of cyber-
attacks and implementing effective security measures engineering
organizations can significantly enhance the resilience of their
systems. Continuous efforts to improve cyber security practices
employee training and staying updated with emerging threats are
vital to ensure the long-term security of engineering systems.
INTRODUCTION
Cybersecurity has become a critical concern in the modern digital era particularly in the field of engineering. As
technology advances and engineering systems become increasingly interconnected the need to protect sensitive
information and critical infrastructure from cyber threats has become paramount. Engineering systems ranging
from industrial control systems to smart cities are becoming more vulnerable to cyber-attacks. The growing
reliance on interconnected devices and the Internet of Things (IoT) has increased the attack surface for malicious
actors. Cyber?attacks can lead to severe consequences including disruption of critical infrastructure theft of
intellectual property and compromise of sensitive information. Therefore, it is imperative for engineers to
understand the evolving threat landscape and adopt robust cybersecurity measures.
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
In today's digitized world cyber security has become a paramount concern for
individuals’ organizations and governments alike. As the reliance on
technology increases so does the need to protect sensitive data and secure
digital infrastructure.
• Rapid Technological
Advancements and
Vulnerabilities
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
In recent years the rapid advancement of technology has brought about numerous benefits in various
fields. However, alongside these advancements the threat of cyber-attacks has also increased
significantly. As cybercriminals become more sophisticated traditional defense mechanisms are no
longer sufficient to combat these evolving threats. This is where artificial intelligence (AI) plays a
crucial role in enhancing cyber security measures.
CONCLUSION
In the digital age cyber security has become a critical concern for individuals’ organizations and
governments alike. With the increasing reliance on technology and the rise of interconnected
devices the need to protect sensitive information from cyber threats has never been more
important. The 21st century has witnessed a rapid proliferation of cyber threats ranging from
data breaches and identity theft to ransomware attacks and state-sponsored hacking. The
interconnectedness of devices and the internet has provided malicious actors with a larger attack
surface making it easier for them to exploit vulnerabilities and compromise sensitive
information. As technology continues to advance so do the tactics and techniques employed by
cybercriminals necessitating constant improvements in cyber security measures.
