EMERGENCY ACTION PRINCIPLES {EAP}
 1. Survey the scene
A. Is the scene safe?
B. What happened?
C. How many victims are there?
D. Are there bystanders who can help?
E. Identify self to the victim and/or bystander.
2. Activate medical assistance or transfer facilities.
3. Perform primary survey and care for life threatening problems.
4. Perform secondary survey, when appropriate, and care for additional
problems.

 1. Clean the wound with soap and water.


 2. Apply mild antiseptics.
 3. Cover wound with dressing and bandage

 1. Survey the Scene


Is the scene safe? Yes/No! { Secure your own personal safety and the
patient }, what happened, How many victims are there, Are they bystanders
who can help.
2. Introduce Yourself
Patient { responsive }
Relatives, friend/bystanders { unresponsive }
 State your name and organization
 Identify your self as trained first aider
 Ask permission to help
 3. Activate Medical assistance or Transfer Facility

INITIAL ASSESSMENT/PIMARY SURVEY
 Form a general impression.
 Determine if the situation is trauma or medical. Apply cervical collar if
needed
 Check for responsiveness.
{ Alert, Verbal, Painful, Unresponsive,} AVPU
 Ensure adeqeut airway
{ Check ABC } Airway, Breathing, and Circulation.
Responsive patient: Determine if he/she can speak clearly.
Unresponsive Patient – needs aggressive maintenance immediately.
