PROJECT TITTLE
DESIGN OF A GRAVITY SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM FOR
EFFICIENT WASTEWATER CONVEYANCE.

CASE STUDY
TANDALE SOKONI, TANDALE WARD, AT KINONDONI
DISTRICT.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
• The community of Tandale Sokoni, situated within Tandale
Ward, Kinondoni District, is currently facing with a
complicated challenge related to the management of
wastewater generated along its streets.
• The absence of a well-structured and efficient gravity sanitary
sewer system has led to a falls of issues affecting the
environmental, public health, and overall well-being of the
residents.
• In order to address these challenges, there is crucial need for
initiative to design and implement a gravity sanitary sewer
system personalized to the specific requirements of Tandale
Sokoni.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
Main objective
• Design of a gravity sanitary sewer system for efficient
wastewater conveyance.
Specific Objectives
• To determine wastewater flow by considering the
population of residential, schools, industries and
commercial.
• To determine hydraulic parameters or the size such
as discharge, velocity and diameter of the pipe.
• To prepare engineering drawings and layout.
SCOPE OF THE STUDY
The scope of the project involves a comprehensive
design of a gravity sanitary sewer system in Tandale
Sokoni, Tandale Ward, at Kinondoni District. This
encompasses topographical analysis, hydraulic
modeling and infrastructure design follow to
regulatory standards.
