FAMOUS PIRAMIDES

 The most famous Egyptian pyramids are

those found at Giza, on the outskirts of
Cairo. Several of the Giza Pyramids are
counted among the largest structures ever
built. The Piramide of Khufu is the largest
Egyptian pyramid and the last of the Seven
Wonders of the ancient world still in
existence, despite being the oldest by about
2,000 years.

 The Egyptian pyramids are an impressive monument
to the power of ancient pharaohs as well as to the toil
of numerous slaves. It took 20 years and one hundred
thousand workers to build the grandest mausoleum
in world history the Great Pyramid of Cheops
(Khufu) at Giza
 The pyramid complex at Giza is guarded by the
Sphinx carved from limestone. It has the head of a
man and the body of a lion. The bottom part of the
monument is buried under the sands.
GREAT SPHINX OF GIZA

 The Sphinx is the oldest known

monumental sculpture in Egypt and one of the
most recognizable statues in the world. The
archaeological evidence suggests that it was
created by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom
.It is a limestonestatue of a reclining sphinx, a
mythical creature with the head of a human and
the body of a lion.
