• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide
functions.
OPERATIONS ON FUNCTIONS
• Let and be any two functions. You can add, subtract, multiply
or divide and to form a new function.
• The domain of new function consist of the -values that are in

Example 1: Let 𝑓(𝑥) = 3𝑥 − 1 and 𝑔(𝑥) = 4𝑥 + 5.
Find: a. (𝑓 + 𝑔)(𝑥) ; b. (𝑓 - 𝑔)(𝑥)

a. (𝑓 + 𝑔)(𝑥) = 𝑓(𝑥) + g(𝑥)


= (3𝑥 − 1) +
