WHO INVENTED PAPER???
 Paper was invented in CHINA by CAI LUN in
AD 105.

Why was PAPER named

PAPER???
The word paper was made from a plant called
‘Papyrus’ which grows abundantly along the
Nile river in Egypt.
WHY WAS PAPER INVENTED???
 Paper was another Chinese idea from 2,000 years
ago. Initially it was used for wrapping precious
object, but soon people began to write on it.
 Because it was lighter than bamboo
and cheaper than silk.
 Paper making involves 5 steps-

1.Chipping 2.Making of wood pulp
 3.Spreading the pulp 4.Pressing-Drying-
 Rolling 5.Cutting sheets
EVOLUTION OF PAPER
 In ancient times, people used to write on clay
tablets made of mud. Later, the bark of birch tree
and palm leaves were used. When paper was
invented demand of it was increasing day by day
due to increase in demand for knowledge.
 Scientists developed the technique of making paper
from wood pulp and other materials.
 Today, we have papers made from a variety of
material.
 Millions of trees are cut every year to manufacture
paper
 Our duty
We should use paper wisely
in order to save the trees from
being cut down and reduce
pollution.
