highlights the main events in the
story.

It provides an overview of the
storyline or main points and
other defining factors of the
work, which may include style,
genre, persons or characters
of note, setting, and so on.
SYNOPSIS
The amount of detail and
information revealed in a
synopsis depends on its
purpose .
.
TYPES
OF
SYNOPSIS
1.Research Synopsis, Summarizes
the problem or question the
research is attempting to solve and
then describes how the research
was conducted.
2. Literary Synopsis Summarizes all
the critical elements of a book so that
an agent or publisher understands, to
a high level of detail, what a book is
about without having read it.
For Example: Jack & Jill

Jack and Jill is the story of a boy and a girl who went up a hill
together. They went to fetch a pail of water, but unfortunately, their
plan is disrupted when Jack falls and hits his head, and rolls back
down the hill. Then, Jill falls too, and comes tumbling down after
Jack.
3. Film Synopsis
This contains the film's title, genre,
logline (a one-sentence summary),
and a five-paragraph explanation of
the film's storyline, major plot
points, and key characters.

this study was to develop a model that could locate these unique

money and reducing the risks associated with remote field localities.
ACTIVITY 1:
2. When a prince invites the whole family to a ball, Cinderella tries
to join them only to be knocked down by her family. A fairy
godmother visits her and dresses her up to go to the ball, and the
prince falls in love with her. Losing her shoe at midnight, it
becomes a hunt for the prince to find his true love at the odds of
her stepfamily.

FEATURES OF
SYNOPSIS
• Condensed version of the text.
• Makes use of the present tense
in unfolding the events and
FEATURES other information.
• Does not reflect the synopsis
writer’s opinion or judgment
regarding the text.
FEATURES • Usually written in an active
voice.
• Does not include very specific
details.
What do you think is the
difference between a Synopsis
and Summary?
SYNOPSIS SUMMARY

● Deliberately gives away the ● Used to generate interest
entire movie's main points among an audience that
including the ending. might be interested in reading
the book or seeing the movie.
Think of it this way: a summary helps somebody decide whether
they want to spend $10 to see a movie or $20 to buy a book. On the
other hand, a synopsis is essentially telling investors, "The millions
of dollars that you're willing to invest would be totally worth it."
