01
TOTAL
STATION
A digital instrument that allows
surveyors to map the
height and distances of different
elements in a landmass,
be it manmade or natural.
GPS (Global
Positioning System)
Latitudinal, longitudinal, height and
distance values between two points can be
mapped accurately using GPS. Using GPS
not only saves time but also saves money
as less manpower is required compared to
other surveying methods.
03
UAVs (Unmanned
Aerial
Vehicles)/Drones
Drones equipped with high-
resolution cameras and GPS
are a great option to get
accurate data points while
conducting a topographic
survey. Drones and other UAVs
also allow surveyors to get data
04
LiDAR (Light
Detection and
Ranging)
LiDAR uses a near-infrared laser
to measure distances on land. It
is one of the fastest surveying
methods that collects longitudinal,
latitudinal, and height values of an
area.
Mobile Mapping
System

Mobile Mapping System is a modern surveying

technique where GPS,GNSS,LiDAR, and other
positioning systems. The way surveys are carried
out has been altered by these technologies.
Surveyors are now able to deploy these solutions
and collect highly accurate information on the most
remote and inaccessible landscapes in a quick and
efficient manner. This information is then drafted in
2D on a map that defines the boundaries. Contour
lines are then drawn on a map based on the results
of the survey.
