KEY DATES

• Marco polo was born in 1254


• He died January 8th 1324 in Venice Italy
• He began his journey to the far east with his
father at the age of 17
• He reached the court of Kublai khan in
1274
PEOPLE INVOLVED

• There were many people involved in Marco Polo although


some of the most well known ones who were with him
along the way were Niccolo and Maffeo who obviously had
a very strong connection to him after the time they had
spent together on their adventures and journeys.
WHO WAS MARCO POLO ?

• Marco Polo was a Venetian Merchant and adventurer who traveled from
Europe to Asia in 1271-95 This was a very good thing for a large majority of
Europe, most Europeans based their ideas on the entirety of Asia based on his
reports and the tales derived from them, He became mostly well known due to
the book written on him which contained the travels and tales of Marco polo,
this book would stay alive for hundreds of more years to come
WHERE DID HE GO ?

• On his way to modern day china he visited many lands including but not
limited to:
• - Venice
• - China
• - Jerusalem
• - Persia
• Afghanistan
