ATR (French: Avions de transport régional; Italian:
Aerei da Trasporto Regionale; or "Regional
Transport Airplanes" in English) is a Franco-Italian
aircraft manufacturer headquartered in Blagnac,
France, a suburb of Toulouse. Avions de Transport

ATR is the world number one regional aircraft
manufacturer with its ATR 42 and 72 aircraft the
best-selling aircraft in its market segment.
ATR = Leonardo + Airbus
• Leonardo builds the entire, fully equipped fuselage
and the vertical and horizontal tails for all ATR
aircraft, with the tails made of composite material.
The fuselage is built and assembled at the
Pomigliano d’Arco plant near Naples, while the tails
are realized and assembled at the Foggia plant.

• With the efficiency of the turboprop engines and


the consortium’s never-ending technological
innovation, the ATRs consume up to 40% less fuel
and emit up to 40% less CO2 than regional jets.

• ATR aircraft are versatile, flexible and can serve airports with
limited ground infrastructure, making them the right tool for
operating regional routes.
• ATR aircraft are the most responsible regional aircraft with the
lowest fuel burn.
• It can reach a cruise speed of 300 kt (556 km/h) true air speed,
with a fuel flow of 811 kg/h: a fuel economy of 1.46 kg/km or 3.8
L/100 km per seat with 48 seats and a jet fuel density of 0.8.
• Take off Distance MTOW = 1106m , Landing Distance MTLW =
966m
• Max Range with Max Pax/Load = 1345 km or 726 NM
• It has a 18,600 kg MTOW, for a 341 kg/m2 wing loading.
