OBJECTIVES OF INDUSTRIAL TRAINING

1) Expose students to professional practices in the industrial sector


under supervision of experienced staff.

2) Provide an opportunity for students to acquire interpersonal skills through


meeting and working with professionals in the industrial sector

3) INTRA is one of the requirements for graduation in UniKL Bachelor and Diploma
programmes.

4) Provide an opportunity for students to feels real-life industrial practices and


implementation of theoretical lessons and principles learnt in the programme
Eligibility
 Students can undergo training after completion of Semester 5 for Diploma and Semester 7
for Bachelor and completed the Final Year Project (FYP II).
 Students must have completed all subjects in their Study Planner and not allowed to carry
any subject during the training. Otherwise, get approval by the Head of Campus (Dean).

CONFIRMATION OF PLACEMENT
1. DUE DATE
Students are required to confirm the placement not less than TWO (2) WEEKS before the training
commences. The confirmation of the placement is done once the students submitted and
acknowledged the Acceptance Form to INTRA Unit.

2. OFFER
It is compulsory for students to accept only ONE (1) PLACEMENT

3. SELECTION
Students should not seek to be engaged with another company for such reasons AS HIGHER
ALLOWANCES, BETTER WORKING HOURS, MORE CONVENIENT LOCATION upon confirmed
earlier placement.

4. UNABLE SECURED PLACEMENT


Under exceptional circumstances, if students are unable to secure any placement of INTRA
after the commencement date, the INTRA Coordinator will PROPOSE ALTERNATIVE
COMPANY to the student.
CONFIRMATION OF PLACEMENT
5. SWAP
Students are PROHIBITED TO CHANGE OR SWAP placement upon confirmed placement
unless
they obtain mutual approval from both the new and existing companies and university.

6. RELATIVE COMPANY
Students are not encouraged to undergo training at their CLOSE RELATIVE'S
COMPANY.

7. Payment by the company as an allowance for the student is encouraged, but not a
requirement.

8. Students are not allowed to accept or be offered any kind of employment during
INTRA period.
CHANGE OF COMPANY
6.8.2
If a student wants to leave his/her current
placement,
he/she must provide a strong justification to the
INTRA Unit and his/her company, receive the
approval from both parties before leaving the
current placement.

The changing of placement can be considered by
INTRA
Unit if the following apply;
• 6.8.3.1 Valid reason with the presence of
medical certificate for medical reasons.
• 6.8.3.2 Approval letter from current companies
and Dean.
CHANGE OF COMPANY
6.8.4
Any changes of placement without proper written
authorization from INTRA Unit (Approval Dean/
Deputy Dean) will be considered as a violation to
the INTRA Regulation. Due to this, students cannot
pursue their training and consequently be ordered
to repeat the training in the following semester.

6.8.5
If the student is unable to provide concrete evidence of
changing placement, or evidence does not address the
concerns raised, the INTRA Unit following discussion with
the Deputy Dean IIIP may decide to:
1.Ensure the student proceed training at the current
placement or
2.Advise the student that documentary evidence of
suitability for the new placement is mandatory before a
student can be allowed to proceed with placement.
