:Problem statements
• From civil engineering point of view, the alteration of new gained
geotechnical properties of soil due to its pollution from different
sources of contamination (e.g. petrochemical activities, oil spills,
pipeline or reservoir leakage and etc.) is another concerning factor
besides of the environmental worries arise from this land
contamination process. besides of the corresponding arising
environmental worries.

9. Compaction )– Used for settlement analysis
It will be good to remember in your talk to say: that we have see clearly the oil
contaminated zone of the excavated soil layer in the borehole one (0 to 0.7 m ).
?What will be the next step
After finalizing of compaction results of uncontaminated soil (at
specific depth of 1.0 m) , a set of remoulded samples of and
artificially polluted soil samples are prepared for settlement
analysis. The samples will be compacted directly at the
corresponding maximum dry density and optimum moisture
content in consolidation rings under static load (using multi
speed CBR equipment). The evaluation based on increasing
different percentage of “used engine oil “ as pollution to soil
samples and their curing them for more than 4 weeks before
compaction in the rings and test.
