ALLITERATION
Definition:
It is the repetition of beginning consonant sounds.
Example:
She sells sea shells by the sea shore.
HYPERBOLE
Definition:
It is a major exaggeration or overstatement.
Example:
I nearly died laughing.
ONOMATOPOEIA
Definition:
A word that sounds like its meaning.
It can also be described as the use of a word which
imitates a sound.
Example:
There was a loud bang on the door.
The owl hooted in the tree.
PERSONIFICATION
Definition:
Giving human traits or characteristics to something
that isn’t human, such as animals, objects or non living
things.
Example:
The bottle of wine is calling my name.

The rain is dancing on the roof.
