INTRODUCTION
When the first COVID-19 case was recorded in
March 2020, the country was placed under a state of
national emergency. COVID-19 ushered in a new normal
in the way people conduct business and deal with each
other . To prevent the further spread of infection among
others, various measures were put in place such as a
ban on mass gatherings, restriction on movement, social
distancing, and preventive practices like handwashing
and wearing of facemasks, etc.

In the face of this continuing health threat, the

Department of Education (DepEd) formulated the Basic
Education Learning Continuing put into motion the
Marching orders of Secretary: ensure that learning Plan
(BE-LCP) to continues while guaranteeing the health,
safety, and wellbeing of all learners, teachers, and other
DepEd employees.

The BE-LCP recognizes that DepEd must adopt

alternative modes of delivering learning it it is to reach
all learners regardless of who and where they are.
Where school-based, Face to Face Learning is not
possible, the BE-LCP identifies three learning delivery
modalities (LDMs) that schools may implement: Distance
Learning, Blended Learning, and Homeschooling.

A critical component of the BE-LCP is enabling

teachers and school leaders to use these learning
delivery modalities effectively. The BE-LCP capacity
building has two streams.
•The First stream (LDM1) is focused on the
implementation and engagement of the alternative
learning delivery system at all levels of the education
system, and intended for school and division leaders.
•The second stream (LDM2) which is the course
accomplishing now, is intended for teachers and is
focused on the instructional implications of using
alternative LDMs.

Learner’s Case: Lack of supportive family

Struggling pupils struggle are manageable by
helping and guiding them wilfully. Additional simple
task would let them realized that they can and they
will overcome such hindrances.

ANNOTATION:
At first, I just rely on the Self-Learning
Modules being printed and distributed by the school.
Sadly, after retrieving the students’ outputs, I
realized that they hardly struggled to learn the
lessons. Then I decided to adjust my WHLP limiting
the number of activities I gave them. 2

Reflective Summary 7.4. Professional reflection and learning
to improve practice

It is vital that once in a while, we pause, breathe deeply and

contemplate on things whether or not we are treading the right
things to do or we are effective on what we do. Thankfully, we got
the chance to weigh on the performances we render as teachers
through this collection of work – the LDM2 Practicum Portfolio.
As for me, I could say that this portfolio reflects my abilities
and how far I’ve improved my technical skills for this school year.
From the preparations that I made in devising the lessons like
attending webinars in improving my skills professionally and
technically, to the executions of the lessons, up to the addressing
and monitoring students who are lagging behind, up to the
professional linkages with colleagues and professional
development and so on.
While I’m doing the compilation of my artifacts, I’m proud
that though I struggle because of our nowadays situation where
we are amidst of Covid19 pandemic, I able to slowly adapt. I also
came to realize that despite that fact that we, teachers, also
struggle so much just to deliver quality in education even prior to
the opening of the school year where we already started pushing
so hard to learn, to prepare and so on, we still manage to perform
our very righteous duty of refining the youth. Thanks to LDM
Course!

ANNOTATION:
I able to improve my abilities and skills
professionally and technically because of the
LDM2 Course.
