Emmanuel Isaiah 7:14

Isaiah 7:14

JVM
JVM
Isaiah 7:14
New International Version
14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign:
The virgin[ will conceive and give birth to a son,
and will call him Immanuel.
The word “Emmanuel” comes from
the Greek rendering of two Hebrew
words, `immanu, “with us,” and ‘el,
“God” (thus in English it is found as
either “Emmanuel” or “Immanuel”).
Matthew 1:22 All this took place to fulfill what
the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The
virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and
they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God
with us”).
When we say God is With us:

1.Live with us

2.Stand with us

3. He is for us
When we say God is With us:

1.He live with us

John 1:14

14 The Word became flesh and made his

dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the
glory of the one and only Son, who came from
the Father, full of grace and truth.
Revelation 21:3

And I heard a loud voice from the throne

saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is
with man. He will dwell with them, and they
will be his people, and God himself will be
with them as their God.'”
1 John 4:13

This is how we know that we live in him

and he in us: He has given us of his
Spirit.
When we say God is With us:

2. He Stand with us
Jeremiah 23:23-24

23 “Am I only a God nearby,” declares the

LORD, “and not a God far away?
24 Who can hide in secret places so that I
cannot see them?” declares the LORD. “Do
not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the
LORD.
When we say God is With us:

3. He is for us
Isaiah 41:10 NIV

10 So do not fear, for I am with you;

do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right
hand .
Hebrews 4:15-16 NIV

15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to

empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has
been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not
sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with
confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace
to help us in our time of need
When we say God is With us:

1.Live with us

2.Stand with us

3. He is for us
Conclusion:

Because of Christ’s death and resurrection, we truly can

receive the gift of “God with us.” Not just with us, as a
friend who walks beside us, though He indeed does that.
But God with us, as in He comes to live inside us, giving us
strength in place of weakness, courage in place of fear, and
vibrant life in all those dark places that once felt dead.
