PhotoShop

• It is Adobe’s photo editing, image creation and


graphics design software. The software provides
many image editing features for raster (pixel-based)
image as well as vector graphics.
PhotoShop

• Photoshop is used by photographers, graphic


designers, video game artists, advertising, and meme
designers.
Divide students into five groups.
The students are going to pick a topic from the
magic box.
The students are going to discuss the use of the
tools that they pick from the magic box.
Selection Tools
Move Tool (V)
-is used to move part of a
layered image to a new location.

Rectangular Marquee Tool


Makes a rectangular selection
(or a square, when used with the
Shift key).
Elliptical Marquee Tool
Makes an elliptical selection (or a
circle, when used with the Shift key).

Single Row or Single Column

and texture similarity when you click or

a single click.

Eyedropper Tool
It can sample colors from anywhere in an
image and add them to your Swatches panel.

Color Sampler Tool


It can used to match colors in an image,
like the Eyedropper tool, but its values can
be stored in the Info palette for future
reference
Ruler Tool
It calculates the distance between any
two points in the workspace. When
you measure from one point to
another, a nonprinting line is drawn,
and the options bar and Info panel
show the following information.

Through the Note Tool we can
attach little notes to your .psd files
Count Tool

It is used to count objects


in an image.
Retouching Tools
Spot Healing Brush Tool
It removes spots from your photos.

Healing Brush Tool


Removes spots from your photo by
selecting a part of your photo as the
reference point.
Patch Tool
It repairs imperfections in a selected
area of an image using a sample or
pattern.

Content- Aware Move Tool


Selects an object in your photo and
moves the selection to a different location
or extends it.
Red Eye Tool
Removes the red eye effect, pet eye
effect, and corrects closed eyes in your
photos.
Clone Stamp Tool
Paints with an image sample, which
you can use to duplicate objects, remove
image imperfections, or paint over objects
in your photo. You can also clone part of
an image to another image.

Pattern Stamp Tool


Paints with a pattern defined from
your image, another image, or a preset
pattern.
Eraser Tool
Erases the pixels in the image as
you drag through them

Background Eraser Tool


Turns color pixels to transparent
pixels so that you can easily remove an
object from its background.
Magic Eraser Tool
Changes all similar pixels when you
drag within a photo.
Blur Tool
Darkens areas of the image. You can
use the tool to bring out details in highlights.

Sharpen Tool
Sharpens a photo by focusing soft
edges in the photo to increase clarity or
focus
Smudge Tool
Simulates the actions of dragging a
finger through wet paint. The tool picks up
color where the stroke begins and pushes it
in the direction you drag
Dodge Tool
Lightens areas of an image. You can use
the tool to bring out details in shadows. For
more information on the Dodge tool

Burn Tool
Darkens areas of the image. You can
use the tool to bring out details in highlights.

Sponge Tool
Changes the color saturation of an area.
Painting Tools
Brush Tool
Creates soft or hard strokes of color.
You can use it to simulate airbrush
techniques.

Pencil Tool
Creates hard-edged freehand lines
Color Replacement Tool
Simplifies replacing specific colors in
your image.

Mixer Brush Tool


It is like a real paint brush and using
the mixer brush tool is like painting on a real
canvas. It mixes the color of the brush with
the background color.
History Brush Tool
It allows you to restore parts of an
image to an earlier history state by painting
over them.

Art History Brush Tool


lt paints with stylized strokes, using
the source data from a specified history
state or snapshot. By experimenting with
different paint style, size, and tolerance
options, you can simulate the texture of
painting with different colors and artistic
styles.
Gradient Tool
Fills in an area of image by a gradient

Paint Bucket Tool


Fills an area that is similar in color
value to the pixels you click.

3D Material Drop Tool


It allows you to sample a material from one
area and then drop it into another area of
your model, mesh or 3D layer.
Navigation Tools
Hand Tool
Moves your photo in the Photoshop
Elements workspace. You can drag your
image using this tool.

Rotate View Tool


It allows you to rotate your image or
document to make it more comfortable to
work on.
Zoom Tool
Zooms in or zooms out your image. The
related tools shown in the Tool Options bar
are Zoom In and Zoom Out
Drawing and Type Tools
Pen Tool
It is a simple selection tool with a wide
range of applications for users at every skill
level. You can find the Pen tool in the lower
half of the Photoshop toolbar, grouped with
the Shape tool, the Type tool, and the Direct
Selection tool.

Free Pen Tool


It creates matrix shapes as well as
paths (shape outlines) in just the same
manner as if we are making a sketch with
the pencil upon paper. The tool
automatically adds anchor points while
drawing.
Add Anchor Point Tool
It adds a point in the path. You can
simply click anywhere along the path to
attach a new point.

Delete Anchor Point Tool


You can use the Delete Anchor Point
Tool to delete anchors and it can also be
used to reshape the existing vector shapes /
paths (shape outlines).
Convert Point Tool
It allows us to see the jumble of lines
and points of the path that we have created
by the other pen tools, and we can adjust a
point of the path also.

Horizontal Type Tool


Through this tool we can write text in
Photoshop when you click a single point, it is
put in a separate layer and a bounding box.
You can drag the bounding box to increase
the text size and click on the move tool to
move the text around.
Vertical Type Tool
This tool is denoted by this type

Vertical Type Mask Tool


It used to mask the background photo
into the text typed vertically
Horizontal Type Mask Tool
Itis utilized to mask the background
picture into the text typed horizontally.

Rectangle Tool
It allows you to draw rectangular
shapes (vector and pixel-based) and paths
(shape outlines).
Rounded Rectangle Tool
It creates vector rectangles with
rounded corners

Ellipse Tool
Using the Ellipse tool, you can draw a
new arc or pie shape, or you can draw an
ellipse or circle and then change it to an arc
or a pie shape.
Polygon Tool
It allows you to create equally sided
polygon shapes to play with and manipulate
into your masterpiece

Line Tool
It allows you to draw a two-point line on the
canvas. Lines can be drawn as vector shapes,
paths, or pixels.
Custom Shape Tool
The basic Shape tools allow you to form
your photos and projects into rectangles,
make circles, ellipses and polygons. This
tool allows you to add various stock shapes to
an image, like music notes, hearts and
flowers.

contrast, “Hue/ Saturation” or “Color Balance” to correct the color issues. Employ
the "Clone Stamp" or "Healing Brush" to remove blemishes or imperfections.
Apply creative filters or effects if desired (e.g., black, and white, vintage, or artistic
effects).
