HOW TO START A

BUSINESS IN 8 STEPS
Kayla Harrison
DETERMINE
IDEA
Businesses usually are made based on an Idea. It
helps to be passionate about your idea in order for
your business to work. As well as an idea that can
contribute to fixing every day problems.

SET EXIT
EXPECTATIONS
When starting a business you nee to decide if what
your doing its to make capital just for your needs to
be met or if its for others' needs to be met
RESEARCH
YOUR MARKET

Think about who's the target audience. How large of

a market? Any competition? You want to be ahead of
the game, even if they’re players more established
than you.

BUSINESS
PLANNING
Now you need a plan. Model revenue? Sales and
market plan? budgeting? And any chance for
possible investors. As well as making SMART goals
and milestones for your business.
BUSINESS
FORMATION
It would help if you were prepared to start your business with a
well-thought-out business plan, and a workable financial model.
Here, Basic bank account setup, accounting procedures, and
policies, employee handbook guidelines, and insurance protection
are all covered

PRODUCT
DEVELOPMENT
You now have to develop the actual good or service that you want to sell.
Whenever feasible, "productize" your company to achieve optimal
effectiveness and expandability. You must choose if it is preferable to
build your startup with internal staff members or external contractors
while developing your product or service. I
THE
STAFFING
The next step is to assemble your startup team and assign roles
and duties to each member. After identifying the positions that
need to be filled, you must hire staff for your firm, decide on
pay and perks for them, and maybe set aside equity for
important personnel that will be subject to a time-based vesting
schedule.

FUND
RAISING
If you're not using your own funds, for very early
stage enterprises, this probably implies looking for
angel investors and other bootrapping financing
methods.
MY
KEY

To me, the most important step in starting

your business is step 4: Business Planning.
I think Business planning is the most
important part because with a plan how will
you succeed? Your business plan is the
foundation of your business. It's a roadmap
for how to structure your business, run it,
and grow your new business.
