INTRODUCTION

 Ischemic heart disease (IHD), also known as coronary


artery disease, is a serious condition that affects the blood
supply to the heart. When blood flow is restricted due to
narrowed or blocked arteries, the heart muscle doesn't
receive enough oxygen and nutrients, leading to damage
and potentially heart attack.
SYMPTOMS OF DISEASE
 Symptoms of IHD can vary and
may not always be present. Some
common symptoms include:
1. Chest pain or discomfort
2. (Shortness of breath
3. Fatigue, Dizziness or light
headedness Palpitations
(irregular heartbeat)Nausea
CAUSES OF DISEASE
 Several factors can contribute to IHD,
including:
1. High cholesterol High blood pressure
2. Smoking
3. Diabetes
4. Obesity
5. Physical inactivity
6. Family history of IHD Stress
PREVENTION OF DISEASE
 Fortunately, there are several steps
you can take to prevent IHD, such as:
1. Eating a healthy diet rich in fruits,
vegetables, and whole grains
2. Maintaining a healthy weight
3. Exercising regularly
4. Quitting smoking
5. Managing stress Controlling.

 The prevalence of IHD is on the rise, with an estimated 9.2% of


the population affected in 2022 compared to 8.7% in 2021. This
represents a 5.7% increase from 2021 to 2022.
