What is listening?

Real listening has three basic steps.

What is active listening?
Active listening means “listening with all senses”

Active listening is full of concentration

Its motto is “what is being said”

What verbal and non verbal messages are sent.

It provide a feedback to speaker


 It creates the mutual understanding between the speaker

and listener.
Example:
Teachers do while students present a topic or judges in speeches.
Why active listening is important?

Active listening is an important part of your communication skill set because it

encourages openness, honesty, and success. When you pay attention to your

conversation partner, you show that person they are being heard, thus building trust and

making that person feel like their words matter to you.
