Copy Reading
Editing, proofreading, and copy reading are
terms usually used interchangeably; however, these three
terms are different from one another.
Editing is reviewing and changing the text,
sentences, or paragraphs to improve the quality of writing.
Proofreading, on the other hand, is ensuring that the
article is free from grammar and spelling, errors. Copy
reading goes more work than just proofreading, as a copy
reader sees to it that the article follows the style of the
publication.

Days/Dates
Since the school paper is published once or twice a year, most news articles
cover at least five-month period. In this case, date comes as less significant. It can be
written as this school year, this semester, etc.
However, if we wish to include them in the story for emphasis, months are spelled
out and day is written in numbers.
Example: Teachers in Values Education, English and Social Studies of Dagatan National
High School (DNHS) have started this school year the use of anti-cyberbullying modules in
their lessons.
