LITERARY GENRES
Literary genres are categories of creatively written
works. The activity showed you the difference between
two basic literary genres which are comedy and tragedy.
Comedy is a literary piece that is dramatic, but
amusing or entertain-ing at the same time. The mood of
the story is light and it always has a happy ending.
The poem entitled My Freaking Alarm is an
example of a comedy because the story is light and has a
funny ending.
KEEPING THE TRACK
LITERARY GENRES
The second genre is tragedy. It is a literary genre
that often tells a sad story on suffering and
misfortune. The death of the main or any major
character is its most common plot.
The flash fiction The Unlucky Winners is an
example of a tragedy because the story is quite
thrilling and disturbing, and two of the characters
died in the end.
