An environmental region at

risk: Antarctica
By SreeAasrith
Why is antarctica at risk?
Climate change is the biggest threat to Invasive species are also a threat to
antarctica as due to the rising Antarctica, invasive species are taken
to Antarctica in many ways such as via
temperatures, ice caps are melting
ships or via being attached as seeds
which isn’t good for the species living to boots. It’s mostly Rats that are a
there as there won't be a suitable threat to Antarctic species of ground
habitat for them to live in nesting birds on sub-antarctic islands
Are there any other threats to Antarctica
Yes, there are other things which cause
Antarctica’s ice caps to be melting or
species getting extinct such as:

Tourism:With the pollution caused by the

ships or planes and possibility of oil spills

Exploration & exploitation of natural

resources in Antarctica:As the need
grows and we become more
technologically advanced, this becomes
a bigger threat
How can we stop this?
We can take action by stopping or limiting tourism to
Antarctica, banning the bringing of pets or animals of
people who come to antarctica, reducing the
extraction of natural resources of Antarctica and
working towards climate change.

There are also many other thing we could do to stop

Antarctica from losing its ice caps and species.
Thank you
