SCADA

(SUPERVISORY CONTROL AND DATA ACQUISTION)

Present By:-
ATUL RAJPOOT
CONTENTS:-
 What is SCADA?
 Need of SCADA

 Block Diagram & Major Components of

SCADA
 Operation sequene of PLC

 Features of SCADA

 Connectivity

 Applications of PLC

 Advantages of PLC

 Disadvantages of PLC
WHAT IS SCADA?

 It’s works like as a supervisior who supervises the

entire plant areaif neede it also controls the process
 It’s convert data segments for Storing Process.

 From a distance, if we want to run the process, (like

Run, Start, Stop etc.) SCADA can do for you.
 SCADA is not a 100% controller it is just a software
which has to be linked with Controllers. As PLC, PID
etc. That is connected to field instruments.
 Hazardious area’s, hilly place where a person can’t
work regularly but process has to be watched
continously & it can be controlled by SCADA.
NEED OF SCADA:-

 Previously without SCADA an industrial process

was entirely controlled by PLC, Microcontrollers
having coding and programming in certain
language.
 Without any true animation that would explian the
process running.
 Thus to make the understanding process easily ,
SCADA is came into existence
COMPONENTS:-
 PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is an
Industrial Digital Computer, which has been
adopted for the control of Manufacturing Processes
and Controlling of Industrial Applications.
 RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) is a microprocessor
controlled electronic device that inerfaces objects
in the physical world to a Distributed World.
 RTU may consists Sensors and Actuators.

 Telemetry is an Automated Communication Process

by which Measurements and other data are
collected.
DATABASE CONNECTIVITY:-

THIS REPRESENT THE VARIOUS SYMBOLS

OF FIELD INSTRUMENTS
SCADA IS NOT DEDICATED TO ANY
SPECIFIC INDUSTRY HENCE ITS LIBRARY IS
SO LARGE.

DYNAMIC REPRESENTATION:-

IT IS THE PRESENTATION OF SAMPLE

CONTROL IN INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
OF AN INDUSTRY.
LAYOUTS:-
APPLICATIONS:-
 Industries

 Automation

 Hospitals

 Power Grids
ADVANTAGES:-

 Control all process and applications in industry.

 Conversion of data is possible.

 Communicate to any protocole avaliable in market

 Distance is no matter in SCADA.

 It is not dedicated to any one type of applications or

Industry.
 Remotely accessible.
