Introduce Ourselves to Khoa
● Today we have a new student from Vietnam, Khoa Huynh
● To introduce ourselves to Khoa, we will take turns
standing up, stating our name clearly, and describing
ourselves using two words starting with the same letters
as our first and last name.
● For Example: My name is Jerry Waller and I am Jokey
and Well-Read
● Take a couple of minutes to write down what you will say
● You do not have to explain your adjectives if you don’t
want to.
Cheza Nami
● Cheza Nami is a nonprofit organization that works to
preserve and encourage the appreciation of African culture.
● They work to do this through play activities, like how you
were able to play with the Bala and the Djembe with Fode
● They will be visiting with us on Thursdays through December
and January.
● The first few visits will incorporate music, much like
yesterday's visit
● The later visits may revolve around food in a similar manner

Fode Sissoko

● Fode Sissoko is a master drummer, Kora player and composer


from Senegal, West Africa.
● He began playing the Kora when he was 5
● He is a griot, which is another word for storyteller
