CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

Waste is the material that is not useable; it is the substance that, after
being used, will be discarded and rendered worthless. Waste is one of the biggest
problems all over the world. Waste is found everywhere, from the land to the
forest and even in the ocean. Waste is also the reason why there is polluted soil,
polluted water, and polluted air; it is also the reason for climate change all over
the world. Waste also affects the ecosystem, as well as the animals and humans.

This research aims to help Barangay Bonot, Santa Rosa Calabanga get
new knowledge about how to manage waste in a good way. Also, this research
aims to know the capabilities of every individual in Barangay Bonot, Sta Rosa,
when it comes to waste management. In the past few years, the waste in
Barangay Bonot, Sta Rosa, has increased because people did not follow the rules
of the barangay and lacked knowledge about how to manage the waste that
came to them. To answer the problem, this research will help the people of
Barangay Bonot, Sta Rosa spread awareness and learn more about managing
waste.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
-The demographic profile of the people in barangay bonot in terms
of the following:
i. Age
ii. Economic status
iii. Address (zone)
iv. Civil status
v. Number of family members
vi. Occupation (parents, other members)
-How does some of the households in barangay bonot manage
their waste?
-What will happen if the people of barangay bonot doesn’t have a
proper waste management?
-What other ways that households of barangay bonot can apply to
make the management of waste more easier?
ASSUMPTION
-Every house have a trash can that separates the biodegradable and non-
biodegradable.
-If the Barangay Bonot doesn’t have a proper waste management, the waste will
spread everywhere and can cause pollution and disease.
-The other ways that the Barangay Bonot can apply to make the management of
waste more easier is compost pit.

SCOPE & DELIMITATION

Our study will focus about the waste disposal management. The
participants involve in our study are the people of the Barangay Bonot. Our study
will be done in Barangay Bonot. Our study will cover the period from 2022-2023.

We will not include all the family member of the households, only the head
of the family. We will not include the Barangay of Manguiring and the nearby
barangay. Year 2021 going down will not be included in our study.

SYNTHESIS OF THE ART
The reviewed studies of the multidimensional effects of single use and
packaging plastic strategies on German household waste management. Shows
strategies to improve the utilization and waste management. The reviewed studies
of a review for modern and smart technologies for efficient waste disposal and
management. Aims to give knowledge in managing the waste. The reviewed
studies of insight into the swiss waste management system is presented,
highlighting the material content available from waste.

Our study is focused on improving the waste management in our Barangay,

while our found study is the utilization and waste management of single use and
packaging plastics ( SUPPS ). They aims to innovate new technologies that will
help the humanity to control the waste that the people are the one who are
responsible for making it. In our study our focus is to improve and manage the
waste disposal to maintain our Barangay cleanliness while on our found study they
are focused on recycling and thermally treated the waste with energy recovery.
GAP BRIDGE THE STUDY
The related studies about insight into the
swiss waste management system,has shortage in
stilizing recycling and half thermally treating the
waste with energy recovery. In order to completely
control and improve their waste management is to
innovate new standards that will help the humanity
to control the waste that people are the one who
are responsible for making it. As well as new
technologies that will aims to stop the pollution in
air, water, and gas.

RESEARCH
METHODOLOGY
INSTRUMENTS OF THE STUDY
The instruments that were going to use in gathering data for our
study is survey and interview. In survey we will use bond paper, ballpen
and questionare, In interview we will use notebook, ballpen and list of
questions. We will use interview and survey because it will make it
easier for us to gather information and it will be helpful to list the
information that is needed in our study.

PARTICIPANTS OF THE STUDY

The participants of our study are the residents of Zone
4,Barangay Bonot Sta Rosa. To be specific, the head of every selected
households with the age of 20 and above.
