INTRODUCTION:

• CompareNShop is a product recommendation system designed to address the

challenges faced by online shoppers.
• The project was led by Lokesh, with contributions from Hari and Shanmuk.
• The goal is to simplify the online shopping experience and enhance user
satisfaction.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:

• Problem: Difficulty faced by online shoppers in finding the right products

quickly.
• Challenges: Overwhelming number of options, time-consuming searches.
SOLUTION OVERVIEW:

• CompareNShop is a user-friendly website with a login page, providing a

personalized experience for each user.
• Users can sign up and search for products from Amazon and Flipkart within our
platform.
• JavaScript fetches real-time results from Amazon and Flipkart without relying on
external APIs.
• Data is stored in a MongoDB database, and Node.js is used for data fetching (web
scraping) and connection with MongoDB.
PRODUCT SEARCH AND RETRIEVAL:

• JavaScript fetches real-time results from Amazon and Flipkart.

• Demonstrates seamless integration for a convenient shopping experience.
SORTING OPTIONS:

• Users can sort search results by price, either low to high or high to low.
• Enhances user experience by providing flexibility in product exploration.
RECENT SEARCHES:

• The sidebar displays the last three searched products.

• Quick access for users to revisit recent searches.
SEARCH HISTORY:

• "Show More" option reveals the complete search history on the main page.
• Offers a comprehensive view of past searches for personalized
recommendations.
LANGUAGES AND TECHNOLOGIES USED:

• Languages: EJS, CSS, JavaScript.

• Database: MongoDB.
• Backend: Node.js for data fetching (web scraping) and connecting with
MongoDB.
• Note: No external APIs were used to retrieve data from the internet.
