Title: "Ipil-Ipil Leaves Extract

for Eco-Friendly Floor Wax:

An Experimental Study"
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
• The study explores the shift towards sustainable materials in
industries, focusing on Ipil-Ipil leaves for eco-friendly floor wax.
Traditional floor wax, laden with harmful chemicals, prompts the
need for organic alternatives due to health risks. The research
emphasizes the common use of petroleum-based floor wax in
Filipino households and schools, highlighting health concerns
and environmental impact. In Eastern Samar, the practice of
using Ipil Ipil leaves for waxing floors is a natural, safe, and cost-
effective alternative. The study concludes by promoting plant-
based waxes as eco-friendly options for sustainable floor wax,
aiming to encourage environmentally conscious practices.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study sought to produce floor wax from Ipil-

Ipil (leucaena leucocephala) tree leaves extract. specifically, this
study aims to answer the following;

1.) Does Ipil-Ipil leaves can produce acceptable floor wax in

terms of efficacy?
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
2.) Is there a difference between young and mature Ipil-
Ipil leaves that can produce more acceptable floor wax?

3.) What are the consumers perception based on

their experience while using the Ipil Ipil-based floor wax?
such as;
a.) Color
b.) Odor
c.) Texture
d.) Luster
e.) Appearance
HYPOTHESIS

Null Hypothesis (H₀):

"The experimental use of Ipil Ipil leaves extract in the

formulation of eco-friendly floor wax will not result in
a significant difference in terms of cost-effectiveness
and environmental sustainability compared to traditional
floor wax formulations."
HYPOTHESIS

Alternative Hypothesis (H₁):

"The experimental use of Ipil Ipil leaves extract in the

formulation of eco-friendly floor wax will result in a
significant improvement in terms of cost-effectiveness
and environmental sustainability compared to traditional
floor wax formulations."
ASSUMPTIONS

- The color of Ipil Ipil-based floor wax will be positively

evaluated, assuming the preservation of color properties during
the extraction process.

- Consumers will find the odor, texture, luster, and overall

appearance of the Ipil Ipil-based floor wax favorable.
ASSUMPTIONS

- The chemical components found in Ipil Ipil leaves are conducive

to the production of floor wax with acceptable efficacy.

- No difference between the young and mature Ipil Ipil leaves

concerning their capacity to yield more acceptable floor wax.
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
Formulate a more sustainable, affordable, and eco-friendly
floor wax;

- January 2024,
- Conducted in Cumadcad, Castilla, Sorsogon.
- Excluding the fruit, body, and stem of the Ipil-Ipil plant
and focusing solely on its leaves.
- Not address the duration of how long the Ipil-Ipil floor wax
will last
- Five (5) participants
- Within household and schoolroom.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The potential beneficiaries of this research study of Ipil-
Ipil leaves extract floor wax could include the following;

-Consumers
-Agricultural sectors
-Environment
-Manufacturer
-Future Researcher
