(MEDIA)
MEDIA
• Media is defined as "one of the means or channels of general
communication, information, or entertainment in society, as
newspapers, radio, or television.“
• Media are the communication outlets or tools used to store and deliver
information or data
TYPES OF MEDIA
The types of media are the different channels through which information and
entertainment reach an audience.
Media often includes the content itself as well as the physical device needed to
transmit it, such as television programming. We can divide media into four
distinct categories:
• PRINT MEDIA:
Print media refers to printed materials, such as books and magazines that contain
words and images.
• INTERNET MEDIA:
Internet media is content distributed online and can include emails and online
publications.
OUT-OF-HOME MEDIA:
Out-of-home media, or OOH, is media that reaches people when they are
outside of their homes, like billboards.
BROADCAST MEDIA:
Broadcast media includes information transmitted through one of several mass
communication channels, such as television and radio.
HOW TO CREAT AN ONLINE PRESENCE
• START A PODCAST
Podcasts are a little more challenging to create, but they are also a powerful content
tool. People love to listen to other people talk, and podcasts are a great way to do just
that.
• DEVELOP AN E-NEWSLETTER
Church administrators know how to keep their congregations engaged: with
sermons, weekly announcements, and other activities. But what about
outside the church walls? How can churches reach out to their community
and keep them connected?
A great way we want to do this is by launching an e-newsletter. This digital
newsletter include event invitations to sermon summaries to testimonies
from people in the congregation. It’s a good idea to start small and test the
waters.
HOW WE PLAN TO ENGAGE CHURCH MEMBERS ONLINE?
Engaging church members online involves creating and sharing content that
resonates with your congregation, encouraging interaction, and providing
value.
• Creating a strong online presence for the church is more than just having
a website or being on social media. It’s about using these platforms to
connect with the congregation, share your message, and extend your
reach. By focusing on a well-designed website and social media, the
church can create a robust online presence that resonates with your
congregation and beyond.
