EXERCISE 1:

• Give an example of a Universal Affirmative or A


proposition.
• Label your answer.
• Ex: A proposition - All students are environmentalists.

• Give an example of a Particular Negative or O proposition.


• Label your answer.
• Ex: O proposition – Some students are not environmentalists.

QUALITY OF PROPOSITION

• Refers to the affirmative or negative nature of proposition

• 2 qualities of propositions:
• Affirmative – the predicate agrees with the subject
• Negative – the predicate disagrees with the subject
QUANTITY OF PROPOSITIONS

• Refers to the universal or particular extension of propositions


• 2 quantities of propositions:
• Universal – refers to all members of the given class term in a proposition
• Particular – refers to some members of the given class term in a
proposition

• Note: all singular terms shall become universal when applied to


propositions
DISTRIBUTION OF TERMS

• Refers to the distribution of every member of the given


class term subject to every member of the given class term
