 Common name: Alfa-Alfa
 It can be grown as annual and perrenial crop.
 It is popular in Southern India
 It is known as “Queen of forage crop”,
 very rich in protein,vitamin,minerals,Ca and P
 100% palatable because it is less fibrous
 it has export potential hence it is known as “green gold”
 it has lactogenic effect
 crop can be fed as green fodder,hay ,dehydrated leaf meal and
pellets

thin & rigid stem. Yield-1000 q GF/ ha/year.

Rambler It is recent introduced from Canada. It is


quite tolerant to very low temp.
