SHUBHAM PRADHAN O.P JINDAL SCHOOL

Priyanka is a diligent and compassionate student in our class, currently in grade 12. She
has always shown a keen interest in science and helping others, which aligns well with
her aspiration to become a pediatrician.

INTERVIEW QUESTION

Shubham: What profession do you aspire to pursue after completing the Board
Examinations?

Priyanka: I aspire to become a pediatrician.

Shubham: What motivated you to choose this profession?

Priyanka: I've always had a passion for working with children, and I find the idea of
helping them overcome health challenges incredibly rewarding. Additionally, my
personal experiences with pediatricians during my own childhood have inspired me to
pursue this path.

Shubham: Can you describe a typical day in the life of someone in this profession?
Priyanka: A typical day for a pediatrician involves seeing patients in both outpatient and
inpatient settings, diagnosing and treating various illnesses and injuries, providing
preventive care such as vaccinations and well-child check-ups, and communicating with
parents or guardians about their child's health.

Shubham: What skills or qualifications are required for this profession?

Priyanka: To become a pediatrician, one must complete a bachelor's degree, followed
by four years of medical school and a residency program specializing in pediatrics.
Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to work under
pressure are essential qualities for this profession.

Shubham: Have you taken any steps towards preparing for this profession? If yes,
could you elaborate?
Priyanka: Yes, I've been focusing on my studies, particularly in science and math, to
build a solid foundation for medical school. I've also been volunteering at a local
children's hospital to gain firsthand experience working with pediatric patients and
healthcare professionals.

Shubham: What challenges do you anticipate facing in pursuing this profession?

Priyanka: One challenge I anticipate is the emotional toll of dealing with sick children
and their families, especially in difficult situations. Additionally, the rigorous nature of
medical school and residency can be demanding, requiring dedication and
perseverance.

Shubham: Are there any particular individuals or role models in this field whom
you admire? If yes, why?
Priyanka: Dr. Maya Patel, a renowned pediatrician in our community, is someone I
deeply admire. Her dedication to her patients, advocacy for children's health, and
commitment to medical education serve as inspiration for me.

Shubham: What advice would you give to someone who is interested in pursuing a
similar career path?
Priyanka: I would advise them to pursue their passion wholeheartedly, seek out
opportunities for hands-on experience in healthcare settings, and never underestimate
the power of empathy and compassion in patient care.

Shubham: How do you envision the future of pediatric healthcare, and what role
do you hope to play in it?
Priyanka: I believe that advancements in technology and research will continue to
improve pediatric healthcare, allowing for better diagnosis and treatment of childhood
illnesses. I hope to contribute to this progress by staying updated on the latest
developments in the field and advocating for the well-being of children in my care.
