• ● Women: They must always wear formal clothing. This includes a skirt and
formal blouse, dress, or suit with adequate shoes. No tennis shoes allowed.
• ● Men: They must also wear formal clothing at all times. This is limited to a suit.
Men should always wear their jackets and ties (except if the chair considers the
room is too warm), with formal shoes. No white socks or tennis shoes are
allowed.
• ● Note: Some traditional attire that is representative of the delegate’s country
may also be worn, as long as it looks appropriate and is considered traditionally
formal clothing.
• ● Breaking the dress code will result in warnings within the committee. ● Dress
code is typically a greater problem with female delegates. In the case that a
delegate is dressing inappropriately or too revealingly, a female member of the
secretariat, female chair, or female teacher should preferably be called to speak
with the delegate, to avoid men the embarrassment and awkwardness. These
delegates should probably be told that they will receive a warning for the day,
but that if they dress similarly the next day, they will not be allowed into the
