What kind of assignments may the instructor use to teach the students the
skills?
What kind of strategies and tools can the teachers use to help the students to
practice their newfound skills?
z
Importance of academic skills :
Communication Skill
One of the most important skills is the communication skill which can make the
students succeed in their academic and job life. Our ability to use new
communication technologies like social networking and video conferencing has
been greatly facilitated by the digital age (Karnieli, 2020). Future employees should
be required to have communication skills with customers, coworkers, and others
outside the company. Students should be taught this skill with much care.
z
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential in this competitive world.
Every firm places a great value on its employees' ability to think critically and solve
problems in order to come up with ideas, solve challenges, and help the company
grow. (Asigigan and Samur, 2021). Critical thinking will prepare the students to
solve critical problems.
z
Personal Management
Students should have the ability to independently plan, organize, develop, and
execute these tasks rather than depending on others to do so (Nicolai, 2018).
Students should create e time schedule and try to do all the work in time. This will
increase their personal development.
z
Technological Skills
Soft skills involve time management, organizing, the ability to look someone in the
eyes when speaking to them, or the application of a strong handshake. These skills
are the determinants of one’s personality. Students should be taught these skills so
that they develop their personalities (Yan et al., 2019).
z
Writing skills
Students will have a better understanding of what it means to live in a world that
is more collaborative and linked if they are encouraged to cooperate on a creative
challenge and given the opportunity to reflect on the lessons they learn from the
activity (Cofer, 2020).
z
2) Build evaluation and analysis
New information is being found and shared at an increasing rate. By the time
students graduate, it is assumed that just half of the knowledge they have retained
will be accurate or comprehensive (Cofer, 2020). Students must be able to not only
locate reliable material but also evaluate its applicability and accuracy. Students
will have a strong basis on which to build these essential 21 st-century employment
skills if teachers incorporate research-based tasks.
z
3) Teach tolerance and resilience
Employers will be looking for people who can and are prepared to interact with
various cultures and ideas in order to prosper in a world that is becoming more
collaborative and global (Yu et al., 2021). Students must be exposed to candid
conversations and situations that can make them feel comfortable interacting with
others in order for them to gain these skills.
z
4. Use learning beyond the classroom
It will be much simpler for students to remember and recall what they learn in the
classroom if they regularly apply what they learn in a variety of ways that are
personally relevant. Additionally, students will be able to understand the importance
of specific abilities in their current and future lives (Yu et al., 2021). . Try providing
students to "transfer" what they've learned in the classroom to real-world situations.
