 It is God’s will that every
believer must obey, submit and
pray for their spiritual leaders.
So that the spiritual leaders do
their God’s given task with joy,
and as a result the ministry will
grow, for the glory of God.

Obey your leaders and submit to
them, for they are keeping watch over
your souls, as those who will have to give
an account. Let them do this with joy and
not with groaning, for that would be of
no advantage to you.

have a clear conscience, desiring to act

Obedience
“Obey your leaders”
What it means to obey
our spiritual leaders?
2 Tim. 3: 10-4:8
 A. Commitment and
character in following Jesus
Christ
vv. 10-13
 Imitate your spiritual leaders,
in their commitment and
character in following Christ.
As Paul said, “Follow me as I
follow Christ.” Following the
examples of spiritual leaders is
an act of obedience to them.
B. Teaching and Preaching
from Gods Word.
vv. 14-17
 Believers can show their
obedience to their spiritual
leaders by applying God’s word
they learned from them.
C. Doing the Ministry
2 Tim. 4:1-8
 Whatever ministry your
spiritual leaders entrusted
to you, accept it and do it.
It is your act of obedience.
Submission
“ submit to them”
 For even if I boast a little too much of our
authority, which the Lord gave for building
you up and not for destroying you, I will not
be ashamed. 2 Corinthians 10:8
 Submission to the spiritual leaders,
is a recognition of their Christ’s given
authority. We obey them because we
recognize that their authority is from
Christ. Submitting to the authority of
the spiritual leaders is submitting to
Christ authority. Disregarding their
authority is disregarding the
authority of Christ.
What it means to submit to
the spiritual leaders?
Titus 3:12-14
2 Tim. 4:9-18
Submission to the spiritual
leaders is faithful
partnership in the ministry.
for they are keeping watch

account.
When everyone in the local
church cooperates with
their spiritual leaders, the
spiritual leaders will be
productive in everything
they do, and the ministry
will grow.
Prayer

Pray for us, for we are
sure that we have a clear

Pray for us
As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message

of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.
2 And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for
not everyone has faith.

Obey your Spiritual leaders,

in the ministry. They are
contributors to the grow of the
Church.
