Introduction

Ergonomic Design:
The design prioritizes comfort with its innovative ergonomic design. Featuring a unique
angle, it promotes a natural hand posture.

Enhanced Support:
With increased size and height, the design provides added support, minimizing wrist
bending and discomfort during prolonged use.

Versatile Usage:
Whether you're a busy professional, avid gamer, or someone seeking ergonomic solutions,
the design offers exceptional comfort and usability.
Background and Motivation

• Prevalence of Discomfort
Millions worldwide suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome, repetitive strain injuries
(RSI), and musculoskeletal issues due to prolonged mouse use.

• Limitations of Existing Solutions

While vertical mice and trackballs offer relief, they often lack intuitive use or may not
suit all grip styles.

• Innovative Solution
The design addresses the shortcomings of existing ergonomic mice by prioritizing
natural hand posture, reducing strain, and enhancing user well-being.
Literature Survey

Existing Ergonomic Mouse Designs

o Vertical Mice: Lacks functionality compared to traditional mice.
o Trackballs: Require adaptation and may not suit all grip styles.

Addressing the Gap

o Our innovative design bridges the gap by incorporating strengths of existing
solutions while addressing their limitations. Features like the angle and finger
grooves ensure comfort and a natural hand position, maintaining intuitive user
experience and essential functionalities.
Problem Statement
• Discomfort and Musculoskeletal Issues
Computer users worldwide suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome, repetitive strain injury (RSI), and wrist,
forearm, and finger pain.

• Issues with Traditional Mouse Designs

o Wrist bending and strain
o Lack of finger support
o Limited adjustability

• Problem Statement
The aim is to develop an ergonomic mouse design, that promotes a natural hand posture, reduces
strain and discomfort, and caters to diverse user needs. By addressing these issues, we strive to create a
comfortable and pain-free computing experience for users across various professions and personal activities.
Objective

• To Design a mouse which promote a natural hand posture incorporate an ankle

design and finger grooves to encourage a neutral hand position, thereby reducing
wrist bending and strain on tendons and ligaments. That reduce wrist strain by 85%
compared to traditional mouse designs.

• Reduced discomfort and fatigue can lead to increased focus and attention, potentially

boosting user productivity during work or gaming sessions. That increase user
productivity metrics, such as task completion time or gaming performance, by 80%
with these design of mouse.
